Ewan McGregor returns to play Jedi Knight Obi Wan Kenobi, the probable main
character in this epsiode. Since 10 years have passed since The Phantom Menace, it is to assume that he is a full Jedi Night. Another thing we do know
is that he was a general in the Clone Wars, meaning that me must be a highly respected Jedi.
Hydn Christensen takes over the
role of Anakin from young Jake Lloyd for Episode II and III. It falls upon him to portrait the fall of Anakin.
Ian McDiarmid returns to play Senator Palpatine of Naboo, now Chancellor of the Galactic Republic. He played this role in TPM and Emperor Palpatine in ROJ.
Since we know that the Empire is errected in Episode II, this means that he must somehow
be directing a Coup d'Etat. It remains to be revealed if Darth Sidious is Palpatine, the most likely
situation.
Some info about him:
"Late in 1989 Ian McDiarmid and Jonathan Kent became joint Artistic Directors of the Almeida Theatre. Both
actors, they have a joint experience of over forty years in the theatre and a strong commitment to producing
challenging, exciting and uncompromising theatre of the highest standard."
He currently works at the Almeida theatre (London).

Frank Oz will provide Yoda's voice again. He will also animate the young Yoda puppet
when Yoda is not walking (CG will be used for movement).
Ralph Brown is in the BBC series "A Respectable Trade" (the doctor). He played
Ric Olie in Episode I (the pilot of the Queen's ship and then of a Naboo Fighter in the end battle). We
assume that he will return.

Natalie Portman returns as Queen Amidala of the Naboo and future bride to Anakin Skywalker and
bearer of his 2 children, Luke and Leia. We do know that she signed on for all prequels. Lucas
has said that parts of Episode II will be a love story between Amidala and Anakin. We still do not know
what will bring the two together again...perhaps Palpatine's newest ploy to get full control over the Senate?
Samuel L. Jackson returns as Jedi Master Mace Windu. He will
have a much greater role in Episode II than that in Episode I. One can assume that he will
be directly invloved this time rather than just sending some Jedi to do the dirty work.
Pernilla August should return as Anakin's mother.
She is not yet confirmed, but Anakin's love for her might play a central part in his fall to the
dark side.
Hugh Quarshie should return as Captain Panaka, the Queen's Chief Security Officer.
Ahmed Best returns
as the dopey Gungun Jar Jar Binks.
