A misterious Sith apprentice, Darth Maul is an incredible opponent not only because of his ability but also but his dreaded weapon: a double edge lightsaber. Totally loyal to his evil master Darth Sidious, Darth Maul is assigned to track down the jedi Qui-Gonn Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, when they escape with the young queen of Naboo. After following a trace leading to the small and distant planet of Tatooine, Darth Maul scouted the area helped by several probe droids. In Tatooine, he attacked Qui-Gonn Jinn, but the jedi master managed to escape barely. When the group returned to Naboo, Darth Maul was expecting the two jedi. There he battle both of them, but when a laser wall kept him and the older jedi, Qui-Gonn, Darth Maul struck down the jedi master, with the horrified look of his pupil Obi-Wan Kenobi. Obi-Wan battled the dark apprentice until almost falling to a shaft, holding on barely, Kenobi was able to jump over Maul, grab his master's lightsaber and cut the Sith warrior in half.
