The Federation wants the young queen to sign a treaty to made the blockade legal, however the Supreme Chancellor Valorum has secretly dispatched two jedi knights to try to settle things up peacefully. Instead of a negotiation the Trade Federation decides to try to kill the two jedi and to invade the planet with an army of battle droids and armored tanks.

  The two jedi, Qui-Gonn Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, after escaping from the Federation battle station, paid a visit to the Theed Palace, home of the ruler of Naboo, trying to alert her of the vicious plan of the Federation. Together with a small group of pilots and guards, they decide to travel to Coruscant in search of support against the greedy Federation.

  However, due to a blast when the ship tried to escape the blockade, the royal starship landed on the desert planet of Tatooine. There, the queen dressed as her handmaiden, Padmé, and the wise jedi master Qui-Gon Jinn, along with an astromech droid R2-D2 and the outcast Gungan Jar Jar Binks, met with a slave boy, yet interesting, Anakin Skywalker who offered his help to the group. Immediately the young boy was atracted to the young handmaiden (nobody knew she was really the queen, not even the jedi himself).

  When a local junk dealer Watto, the owner of Anakin, refused to take Republic credits as payment for the parts of the ship. The group trusted all to Anakin, a gifted kid and being known as a talented pod racer pilot. Qui-Gonn managed Watto to accept a bet for Anakin´s freedom.

  On Boonta Eve, home of the Pod Racer circuit on Tatooine, Anakin won his way to freedom and helped his new friends find their way to Coruscant.

  There in Coruscant, the queen met with the Senator of Naboo, Palpatine who was expecting her. Both met also with the Supreme Chancellor Valorum and decided to arrange a meeting on the Senate hoping to hear the queen's plea. However, as a mastermind politician, Palpatine saw the opportunity to convince the queen of a "no confidence" vote on the Chancellor's Valorum decision on creating a commitee to investigate the Naboo invasion. This decision would also lead, eventually to the election of a new Chancellor on the figure of Palpatine himself.

  Amidala knew that the intervention of the Senate was useless, so she decided to return to her homeworld, advised that the Gungans, another species living on the underwater regions of the Planet Naboo, would fight for it.

  When the group returned to Naboo, the queen plead to the leader of the Gungans named Boss Nass, at first he was opposed to the idea of helping her, but an emotional request was too much for him and he agreed. The Gungans take on the battle droids and the federation tanks, meanwhile the queen, the two jedi and the guards, would try to recover Theed Palace from the greedy Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray and his allies. Also N-1 Starfighters would try to knock down the battle station who was controlling the battle droids.

  Finally Naboo was set free and in a celebration parade, the queen gave honors to the brave Gungans and to all who fought for the liberation of the peaceful Naboo.
